How we use AI
What the AI writes
The personal text of each Page (the small label above the name, the headline, one to three sentences and the closing line) is written by a large language model provided by Anthropic (Claude). For the advent calendar the model also suggests the 24 window messages, and for the "Our year" book the short line on each page, from the numbers and lists you type; you can rewrite all of them. At the time of writing we use the model claude-sonnet-5. The animation, layout and design are hand-made templates, not AI output.
What the model receives
The occasion, the Recipient's first name, the relationship and the details you type into the order form. It does not receive your own name (the signature at the bottom of the Page is added by our code, with the sign-off you choose), your e-mail address, payment details or photos.
You decide what goes out
The model writes three versions of the text; you pick one on a watermarked preview before you pay, and you can ask for three new versions once per card. AI text can be inaccurate or awkward, so please read it. If a detail is off, go back, adjust the details and preview again. If the model cannot produce usable text, a plain, pre-written greeting for the occasion is used instead, and the preview shows exactly what the Recipient will see.
Training and retention
Under Anthropic's commercial terms the model is not trained on your inputs or the generated text, and Anthropic deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days unless they are flagged for abuse; under Anthropic's policy, flagged content may be kept for up to 2 years. We do not create AI images, audio or video, and we do not generate content that imitates a real person's voice or likeness.
How the AI text is marked
Under Article 50(2) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the EU AI Act) we mark the AI-drafted text in a machine-readable way: every Page carries a generator tag in its HTML head, and the AI-written text elements carry a data-ai-generated="true" attribute. This includes the advent calendar window messages and the lines of the "Our year" book. At the bottom of every Page a visible "Text drafted with AI" link points to this disclosure. The video file that comes with the Extra plan is a screen recording of the Page, including its AI-drafted text, and every frame carries a visible "Text drafted with AI · sendawick.com" line. The story picture that the Recipient can save at the end of the "Our year" book contains only the numbers and lists the Customer typed, not AI text. Robust watermarking of short text is not yet technically feasible; we have taken into account the European Commission's Code of Practice on marking and labelling AI-generated content as far as it applies to text.
